Say NO to Heysham Wind Farm

David Morris addressing the Heysham Against Turbines Meeting.

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate David Morris was asked to address the recent Heysham Against Turbines (HAT) meeting at the Community Centre last Wednesday.

The focus group, formed by concerned residents in response to the announcement by BT to erect two 450ft wind turbines on Heysham Moss, held a PACT meeting to discuss the issue.

Mr Morris, who has had experience in fighting land based applications including the recently rejected Hutton Roof Windfarm, said that he could not “see any merit in endorsing this application”.

He stated: “First and foremost, I am not against wind turbines, but to place two the size of Blackpool tower near to housing in Heysham will blight the skyline and the areas of natural beauty for several miles around.”

“Even though this application is in its early stages, which HAT is keeping a close eye on, I could not see a time, or any merit in endorsing this application”.

Mr Morris has written to Hilary Benn, the Secretary of State for the Environment, with his concerns into this proposal and is urging people to sign his online petition against this and the other Cragg Lot Wind Farm proposals.
